An Update From IoT World 2017

Posted on

The first two days at IoT World have been a blast. The audience is dynamite and keeping us on our toes for the entire time. We have a programming test to win a t-shirt and it has been incredibly busy with many contenders. Five defects in a function of 15 lines of an open source program. Most people couldn’t find a single defect, with only one person found all five. This is living proof that advanced static analysis tools deliver incredible value.

The show is a great success outside of our booth as well. A lot of content from software to hardware, from cars, to smart homes. We will certainly be back next year. A couple of impressions below.

A smart neighborhood ( by AVNET

Buddy for monitoring smart buildings (

Time Sensitive Networks by the Industrial Internet Consortium (, a collaboration of many different hardware and software vendors:

Grush, the gaming toothbrush (

This facial recognition that over-estimated my age by a bit:

A doll house by People Power:

And a VR bike setup by Samsung which was more fun to use than it looks like:

As you can see, exciting things are happening in IoT and we’re glad to be part of it. If you’re at IoT World 2017, feel free to drop by our booth #948.
